New Chairman of the Board of Trustees

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Harald Henggi as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The business economist was responsible for fiance and HR at the head office in Berne from 2015 to 2023 and served as well as Deputy Managing Director.

Harald Henggi knows the foundation inside out from his previous position. During his eight years at the head office, he worked closely with Sabine Lüthy, the then Director. Harald Henggi also know the Newlands Clinic and many of the staff in Harare personally from his trips to southern Africa.

Following the sudden death of Hans Lutz, our former Chairman of the Board of Trustees, in March, we are delighted that Harald Henggi will be supporting the foundation with his extensive experience and knowledge. «It is a great honour, pleasure, and obligation for me to help shape the future of the Ruedi Lüthy Foundation. Our active support is still very much needed in Harare.»

Harald Henggi will be supported by Dr. Eliane Rohner, MD, who will take on the role of Vice President of the Foundation Board with immediate effect. Dr. Rohner, a medical doctor und reseacher at the Institute of Social and Prevantive Medicine at the University of Bern, conducts research into the connection between HIV infection and HPV-related cervical cancer, as well as other cancers in people with and without HIV. She is, therefore, a recognized expert in relation to the foundation's thematic focus.
