Roman Mezzasalma visits Newlands Clinic

Together with Ruedi Lüthy, the founder of the Newlands Clinic, Roman Mezzasalma, Managing Director of the Ruedi Lüthy Foundation, vistes the clinic in Harare for the first time.

It was an emotional journey. Ruedi founded the clinic 20 years ago and, over the years, has developed it into a center that offers impoverished people living with HIV a chance at a better life through comprehensive treatment.

Ruedi Lüthy had to step down from his role as head of the clinic and the foundation due to age. He knows that his life's work is in good hands. Many of the now more than 80 employees at the clinic have been with the team for a long time and continue to uphold the founder's values.

Roman Mezzasalma heads the foundation's office in Bern, Switzerland. Together with his team, he is responsible for ensuring that the foundation generates enough funds to provide comprehensive treatment for the over 8'000 patients of the Newlands Clinic.
