Women living with HIV are at an increased risk of developing cervical cancer. We conducted a study identifying gaps in the continuum of care for cervical cancer screening, together with our Swiss partners in the IeDEA collaboration.

Women living with HIV are at an increased risk of developing cervical cancer. We conducted a study identifying gaps in the continuum of care for cervical cancer screening in women living with HIV in care at Newlands Clinic, together with Dr. Kati Taghavi et al., our Swiss partners in the IeDEA collaboration. The study identified the need for early screening, treatment, and follow-up to prevent cervical cancer. We also demonstrated that the evaluation of care could be simplified. That supports its scalability. If scaled up, the cascade approach may be useful in helping the WHO goal to eliminate cervical cancer.
