Ruedi Lüthy and his Foundation
A LIFE DEDICATED TO HUMANITY
With his tireless dedication, Ruedi Lüthy has not only saved countless lives, but also established a foundation that gives hope.
A PIONEER
Born in Lucerne in 1941, Ruedi Lüthy is one of Switzerland's most prominent doctors in the fight against HIV and AIDS. As a pioneer from the very beginning, he was already at the forefront of the battle in the 1980s, when the HI virus first appeared in Europe and was still associated with fear, exclusion and ignorance. He established the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital of Zurich and made a name for himself not only as a doctor, but also as an educator and fighter for the dignity of those affected.

TEAM HEAD OFFICE
OBITUARY
We mourn the loss of Prof. em. Dr. Martin Täuber (1951–2025), a generous supporter and long-standing member of our foundation's patronage committee. We will remember his contribution to medicine and his humanity.
Ruedi Lüthy: "Martin Täuber was a special friend to me, someone I could always rely on. He did outstanding work with us in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the University Hospital of Zurich and later as Chief Physician of Infectious Diseases in Bern. His work at the University of Bern as Dean and later as Rector will be fondly remembered by all."
