THE RUEDI LÜTHY FOUNDATION

THE RUEDI LÜTHY FOUNDATION

HIV remains one of the biggest health challenges in Africa. In Zimbabwe, over a million people live with the virus – many without access to treatment. The Ruedi Lüthy Foundation addresses this very issue: Through the Newlands Clinic in Harare, we provide free medical care, comprehensive support, and training for healthcare professionals. Every donation directly supports this project – and gives people a real future.

Professor Ruedi Lüthy, one of the pioneers of HIV treatment in Switzerland, founded the Ruedi Lüthy Foundation in 2003 to provide people in Zimbabwe with access to vital therapy. His motivation: the conviction that every person has a right to medical care – regardless of origin or income.

With his vision and commitment, he laid the foundation for work that continues to change lives to this day.

Bild der Newlands Clinic in Harare

The heart of our work is the Newlands Clinic in Harare. It treats over 8000 patients with HIV and other chronic illnesses – free of charge and at the highest medical level.

In addition to providing care, the clinic focuses on prevention, psychological support, and nutrition programs. Furthermore, it trains not only nursing staff but also hundreds of doctors from across Africa each year in modern HIV medicine.

Patientin vor ihrem Haus

The Ruedi Lüthy Foundation exclusively funds the Newlands Clinic. This means that your donation does not go into complex structures or numerous projects simultaneously, but directly towards the treatment and care of people living with HIV.

They know exactly where their contribution goes – and directly changes the lives of our patients.
